Good evening everyone
Release was at 10am - in a bit cooler weather with a slight tail wind.
The distance of today's race was 155 miles if flown in a straight line. Remember we have quite a large lake between most release points and the loft. The birds regulately fly around the lake adding about 50 miles to this distance. This is something pigeon fanciers forget about lofts in Niagara.
Today, a few of the birds managed to cross the lake going very high and clocking at fantastic speeds. Others came around the lake making their flying distance approximately 200 miles.
Most of the birds came in good time and some even came home playing, not tired at all.
Overall, we're very pleased with todays return. We'll keep the clock running until tomorrow.
Plan for the weekend is some loft flying and our 3rd PREP RACE from North Bay on Monday or Tuesda, weather permitting of course.
Have a great weekend - and CONGRATULATIONS to our winners!

Good morning everyone,
The birds were released at 10am this morning in Huntsville. The weather is clear and sunny with a slight north wind.
Loft Manager D was able to get a video that I'll post later for you.
Good luck to all flyers!
Good late night
We're basketing birds tonight...a total of 189 birds are basketed now, ready to head off to Huntsville in the morning. Rick is hoping for a 10am release time and I'll be guiding him through the live clocking as the day goes on.
Please check the basketing list up on wincompanion in the RACES tab.
Stay tuned tomorrow for the results!
Good afternoon everyone
I've posted a late night inventory that Rick did last night - he scanned each pigeon individually.
Sorry for the delay in posting, but work happened and I didn't get a chance too early this am.
There are 186 birds in the loft...and the training report is looking odd, with the "0" birds clocked, but it's taken into effect that we did this inventory after sunset and I believe it's trying to calculate things weirdly in the background. The important thing is though, that you can see if your bird(s) is there...period.
Plan for this week is basketing on Wednesday night for PREP RACE #2 on Thursday - weather dependent of course. If not Thursday, it will be on Friday. This prep race is planned from Huntsville approx 255 kms.
The birds are ready to go, even the ones we held back last week.
Will confirm Thursday's race tomorrow!
Thanks,
Good evening flyers,
More birds have come home - more than the 170 that we shipped. Some from the last training toss from the En Route near Newmarket have arrived.
Rick will be doing a full inventory tomorrow and I'll post once ready.
Congratulations to our Prep Race #1 winners:
#1 Granby Loft
#2 Milano
#3 B&V Loft
#4 Nagie Racing Pigeons & Pigeonempire.Com Gudio Madrusan (tie #4/#5 split)
Rick is planning for our next race Prep Race #2 on Friday this week.
Looking forward to i!
Good morning everyone
Rick released the birds at 9:30am from Orillia...we will keep the clock going and wait for their return. 170 birds were shipped. Rick said that on their release they circled around a few times (as you can see from the video) and then they headed off in the right direction.
I've posted a video of their release onto Facebook and Instagram for you to see, check it out!
I'll continue to check on the clock today and post any updates as needed.
Good luck to all of our flyers!

Good late evening everyone,
We've just finished basketing the birds - and it's after midnight, technically the update should say "Sat. Sept. 24th Update" if I was being picky.
There are a total of 187 birds at the loft. We've basketed 170 of them. Rick handled each one on his own. There have been some very late returns from the last toss and Rick has decided to keep the following birds home (they are INELIGIBLE for this first prep race)

I'll be here with LIVE CLOCKING going tomorrow and Rick will race back to see if he can catch their return home in person.
We'll connect tomorrow!
Evening all
The PREP RACE is set for Saturday. Release will be from Orillia. The weather looks great and we'll be ready for them with LIVE CLOCKING.
We'll be doing the basketing list tomorrow night while we put them through one by one. Rick will drive them up to Orillia and I will be waiting at home for the arrival.
Hope you're able to tune in for the clocking and the updates!
Afternoon all,
Rick took the birds on a quick toss from Hamilton this morning before the weather turned...it's raining here this afternoon.
He let them out in groups of 15 to 20 birds and they came home well - however, not officially clocked. So no results from this short toss.
Rick is plannig on basketing tomororw night for our first PREP RACE planned for Friday, if weather cooperates. If not, then we will plan for a Saturday PREP RACE. This prep race will be from ORILLIA.
Excited to see some winners...will post more soon!Jeane (aka "The 1st Pigeon Lady")
Rain is all around today - typing this while the rain pours down on the barn. Every few minutes, some thunder adds in.
We've kept the clock running and we had an additional 4 birds come this morning, as well as some more from yesterday.
The PREP RACE that we were hoping was going to be today or tomorrow (Tuesday) has clearly been delayed.
Rick is now looking closer to the weekend coming, as he would like to give the birds who've returned a chance to rest. He is feeding heavy, lots of electrolytes and vitamins.
Closing this trainig toss in wincompanion today - and we'll make sure to do an inventory later this week to catch all the birds that are back.
