The rain is really hitting us lately.  Today was miserable looking in the morning and into the afternoon but Rick decided to do a short toss this afternoon.  Since the birds were crated and ready to go - he took them about 20km as soon as there was a clearing.

Afternoon everyone,

Rick managed to get the birds for another training toss today from about the same location - the heavy, cloudy skies did not permit for something further at this point.  We're getting there - slowly but surely!

I've posted the results so far in wincompanion - 253 out of 255 sent.

We're planning for another tomorrow...weather permitting of course!

Evening all,

I've placed the full payouts under the PAYOUTS tab linked under the wincompanion drop down.

We will pay the top 30 positions for the Main Race.  We will also award the top 3 birds for average speed.  Remember we also pay $500 to the last bird home on the day of the Main Race.  This award is called the Terry Wintle Memorial Award and it is our 5th year doing this award.

The race schedule changes each day for Rick...we are tentative with our dates and will post something asap to start to "go" off of.  Again, this will be tentative.  Prime example is this past weekend, full of rain, that has limited his training tosses.

Afternoon flyers,

I've finally posted this morning's training toss from Clappison's Corners - just west of there.  

255 birds clocked in out of 256 sent.

A couple of groups came home, instead of the normal one big return.

Good evening all

Just finished watching the birds have a loft fly for the evening, and they're now in for the night.

Rick took them just west of Clappison's Corner this morning and released them around 8:10am.

There's 256 birds clocked as of this evening.  I will keep the clock on for the night and into tomorrow in case there are some stragglers.

Check out the Facebook Live that I just did from this evening as the birds were let out for their loft fly - always cool to see.

Good morning everyone

The birds were up around 8am this morning from about a mile from Clappison's Corner - above 50kms.

Rick did catch a video of their release and I will post it later for you.

So far, he's let me know that there are over 240 birds in the clock - this will be posted later for you on wincompanion.

Good evening everyone,

No training today - the rain was all over us today.  Rick had the birds out for a good hour loft fly this afternoon from about 4:30-5:30 when the sun finally came out.

Plan for a training toss tomorrow as long as the weather is ok.  He is looking at releasing them from Clappison's Corner which is over 50kms away.

Cross our fingers the weather cooperates!

Rick let me know the birds enjoyed a bath in the rain while they were in their aviaries during the day.

Evening flyers,

Just finished posting the results of the training toss today.  There's 260 birds clocked in.  Interestingly enough, 3 of those birds were missing in our stats.  So they've decided to rejoin the race.

If you look down the right side of the results listing, you'll notice the "Missing" piece and see who's decided to come back.

The birds had a loft fly tonight, and as I'm writing this, another bird has just come home.  I will update the results list momentarily...always an interesting life, this pigeon racing is :)

I'll keep you posted as the race schedule, which is very tentative but a little more "solid"...I will upload here on the UPDATES page this week...as well as the payouts.

Just FYI - more birds came home today, from the training toss, and from another day...as we're higher in bird count than we've been for a few days now.

The clock sits at 260 - a few more birds decided to make their way back this evening.

I'll keep the clock running until the am - then I believe Rick is going to try another toss in the morning.  I'll keep you posted!
