Good evening everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that the cheques for both the Tobermory race as well as our own Englehart race have be mailed out.
We were in receipt of the payouts from the Englehart Open just this past Sunday, so the cheques for those winners will be mailed out by next week.
We will also be sending a copy of the Englehart Open race results when we mail the cheques for those winnings.
Thank you to everyone for a wonderful year and we look forward to next year's race!
Again - like I usually say - stay tuned for information about next year's race...have a wonderful week!
Jeane (& Rick)
The cheques are being sent out this week - including Tobermory, Englehart, as well as the refund cheques for the birds that were not entered into the Englehart race.
Thank you to everyone for connecting with us as needed and staying in touch regarding plans for next year!
We'll keep you posted as to our start dates for registration and important dates as we go through the winter.
Thanks for all of your support!
Jeane & Rick
Just a couple of FYIs for you - please connect with Rick or through email if you still need to pick up your birds.
He can set a time with you that works for both of you!
With regards to the payouts for both races - the cheques are being completed and will be sent in the next 2 weeks. These cheques will include the refund back of $25 for the entry fee for the Englehart race.
Please connect with us if you have any questions!
Well - it looks like we officially have a 13 bird return from Englehart.
We were not alone in the poor returns for this race, as many of the other lofts that participated in this race, struggled with returns as well. The winds we had today (along with the morning rain and some showers on and off) did not help in getting the birds back home.
Rick and I are providing the results to the Englehart race crew. We are also adding the 2 last place positions (14th and 15th) prize amounts onto the 1st through 13th positions winnings for our race.
We are organizing the payouts over the next couple of weeks. We have a few re-imbursements to work out for the entry fee to the Englehart race. We'll keep you posted.
So there are still only the 10 birds that have clocked in for the one loft race from Englehart. All are eligible.
There was quite the rain coming down this morning until about now (almost 10am)...but no further birds yet this morning.
There is also a strong head wind right now - weather looks better in a couple of hours, so we’re hoping more come back this afternoon.
We’ll keep clocking to get those birds tracked for you - and we still have 5 money birds left!!
We are excited that 9 birds have clocked in so far - great results so far for these birds!
Congrats to our winners so far...
The birds were up at 7:45am this morning from Englehart.
We anticipating any time after 3 - we'll see how it goes!
We have the module sitting in race mode ready to capture the action - we'll see if my computer cooperates to upload the results timely.
If not - no fear, I will manually update as we go...
As we load up the results - make sure to keep an eye on the eligibility - in case a stray bird from the toss decides to make an appearance.
Have a great afternoon...we'll keep in touch!
Our wincompanion leader, Terry Gilmore, graciously updated the race report to show the current basket list for Englehart.
It makes it a little easier to confirm your birds.
I may be switching the race to a training race in the background in our computer setup - but fear not, as the results will be up there tomorrow! Either in the “race” heading or the “trainers”.
I’ll keep you posted.
The rain this week made it very difficult to get any tosses in. Tuesday morning came, and it was clear, so Rick took the birds 32 miles away at Centennial just to give them a fly. He released 92 birds and for reasons completely unknown to us, only 57 birds made it home. We are incredibly disappointed, but realize that this is the life of pigeon racing. Murphy's Law - figures that all trainings up to this point went excellent.
The 57 birds that made it home, appeared in excellent shape, and we shipped off tonight to Englehart.
The list of birds, I'm having to enter manually on the website - under this updates page (I'll write a separate note with their band numbers).
I've been on the phone with our wincompanion connection in the states as our module is not reading into the computer system to allow me to do an "easier" pull of the basket list. So I'm manually completing the work myself.
The module is in race mode and ready to record the times of the birds - it just might not be live. We'll see how it goes on Saturday with the connection to the computer.
Any flyer's bird that failed to return from the toss, will have a reimbursement of the $25 Englehart Open entry fee.
Have a great Friday - and we look forward to the race on Saturday!
