The MAIN RACE is on for tomorrow - Monday, Oct. 23rd, 2023!

Rick is basketing as I type and we're ready for this year's main event.  Our driver will be at the Latchford Community Centre (300 miles) and will aim to release the birds at 9am.  Of course this is dependent on fog, etc. 

Our loft manager Derek will be there and we are hoping to capture a Facebook Live release for you.  I'll aim to have him connect to our Facebook Page just before 9am.

Hi everyone

Looks like we’re going for a Monday MAIN RACE. If the weather stays the way it is, there might be a slight head wind for most of the race on Monday.

Congratulations to the winners of PREP RACE #3:

Just FYI - I've turned the wifi off to the coop for the night (those of you know that our connection to the loft is sometimes a little patchy - as our loft is quite a distance from our house).

I will make sure to update the late stragglers tomorrow as I've left the clock running to capture any that still return.

Morning everyone 

Rick had the birds released at 8:30 this morning from McFADDEN road just on the outskirts of North Bay.

I will be posting the basket list momentarily.

We have a release video - Rick has been trying to send but reception poor where he is - I'll get it posted asap when he's closer to home.

Sorry for lack of daily posts - I've been under the weather but hopefully will be feeling better soon!

CONGRATULATIONS to our PREP RACE #2 winners:

Rick was hopeful to hope PREP RACE #3 tomorrow (Monday) however, the weather is not cooperating so he's now hopeful for a Tuesday race.  We are still aiming for our MAIN RACE on the weekend (Sunday, Oct. 22nd) - fingers crossed the weather permits.

Hi everyone

Just FYI - the speeds are looking fast.  There is a tailwind - and the race station that I put in the system was a bit far.  Rick released the birds between Gravenhurst and Huntsville.

Wanted to share that information.  There is currently 132 birds clocked in at 11:40am our time.

Video of the release to come!  GPS reading was taken at release - I'll try and change the coordinates in the race station online.

The birds are on their way to 150 miles for prep race #2!

The weather seemed to cooperate for the plan and it's on.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone - and hope you have all had a great weekend!

As you have probably seen from looking at the weather - it's not cooperating lately.

We're watching the weather very closely.  As of right now, Rick is hoping to get Prep Race #2 in this week - likely Thursday.

I'll keep you posted as to what things are looking likely closer to Thursday.
