100-MILE QUALIFIER IS TOMORROW, TUES 10/17 

Today we completed a hand inventory of every bird.
There was one bird missing a chip, which is fixed & breeder notified.
Tonight we load the birds and drive to 100-mile spot.
Release will be at 8:30 am from Oklaunion, TX.

On shipping night for the first race, we will do a live inventory of the birds.

Breeders must pay $150 entry for every bird that returns from Qualifier. 
Entry covers 105 prizes awarded over races 1, 2 & 3 (35 prizes per race).

Thurs 10/12 - birds are going 55 miles again.

WEDNESDAY, 10/11/23
This was the 2nd 55-mile toss - birds released in 1 group.
The birds did good, but got broken up a bit - some took a bit to return.

We used GPS bands on our tracking birds for the first time.
The video shows the interesting results & our take on what happened.
We will be using these often to try to get in-flight information.
The 100-mile Qualifier is quickly approaching - Oct 18th.

MONDAY, 10/9/23 UPDDATE
Today was the 1st 55-mile toss from Jolly, TX.
Released in 1 group.
The birds did GREAT, with every single bird returning from the toss.
We even had a few extras return that had been lost.
Tomorrow is a loft fly & baths.
Wednesday, we go back to the 55-mile spot for a 2nd time.
The 100-mile Qualifier is quickly approaching - Oct 18th.

FRIDAY, 10/6/23 UPDDATE
We are pushing ahead - today we went back to 30 miles.
The birds did great, just like the 1st time from 30 miles.
Tomorrow will be 45-miles again.
The 100-mile Qualifier is quickly approaching - Oct 18th.

WEDNESDAY, 10/4/23 UPDDATE

Had a really tough 45-mile toss on Sunday.

The birds are healthy, with perfect marble poops and eating well.

They had been doing great at the tosses leading up to Sunday.

The sky was clear & calm.

Had to keep them in yesterday, because we had a big storm.

Today we loft flew the birds to prepare for tomorrow's toss (Friday).

FRIDAY, 9/29/23 UPDDATE

Today was the birds' 2nd 20-mile toss.

Today we releasesd in 3 groups, instead of 4.

Both yesterday and today the birds did great!

Tomorrow we'll go 30 miles for the 1st time.
