200 MILE RACE FRIDAY
Good Evening Breeders,

Birds enjoyed some rain off and on during this morning's loft fly.

Forecast for Friday looks great for the first race.  Current forecast shows sunny and very little wind along the course.  As the birds get closer to home they look like they might encounter a couple mile an hour tailwind.  Temperature at release will be 45 degrees and 70 by the time they reach home.  Course is currently smoke free...fingers crossed the wind tomorrow doesn't blow smoke back onto the course.

Refunds will be issued after the first race to those that have lost birds since activation.

There are a few more birds available to be activated.  They are under "Crooked River Challenge" and named "For Sale".  Please let me know ASAP if anyone would like to activate.

Have great evening and good luck!

GOOD MORNING!
Good Morning Breeders!

Birds enjoying a crisp autumn morning loft fly.  It has been beautiful with limited smoke at the loft, but south of us the smoke continues to be an issue.  I know everyone is eager to get the first race done, as am I, but we have to wait until the smoke clears off the course.  There is weather coming over the weekend and beginning of this next week, so hopefully we can get some rain to clear some of that up.  It doesn't have to be perfect but it will have to definitely improve.  I will continue to road train birds as much as needed to keep them in shape.

Currently, I have received 78.5% of the entry fees. Most of the rest I have confirmed directly with breeders that they are in the post system.  We are rural and do not get mail on Saturdays, so that contributes to the delay.  If you have not heard from me or contacted me and are unpaid, best to reach out.

There is one bird currently for sale and is listed under "Crooked River Challenge" as the breeder.  I have it named "for sale", please let me know if anyone would like to activate it.  The others have been spoken for at the moment.

Birds continue to have great appetites and receive a rotation of Primalac and Ropa B in their water.  They continue to train well and there are some birds that don't trap right away on these past short tosses.

I hope this finds everyone well and good luck in all the races!

GOOD AFTERNOON

Good Afternoon Breeders,

Birds are still making their way through the wind as I am writing.  Parts of the race course today were dead calm and others were quite blustery.  I am happy that the majority of birds did well and made the correct decisions on the way home.  Today was a good learning experience and working activation for the birds.

Congratulations to Van Den Bossche Brothers for getting the first bird in the clock, following by Oscar and Linda Devries, and Primos Aranda Loft.

Big Congratulations to Primos Aranda Loft for winning today's sprint and taking home the sprint average speed win!

Congratulations to Cicio's Loft for taking second sprint, followed by Ganus in 3rd.

Congratulations to Kolvenbag for taking second average sprint and Adam Hajduga for rounding out the 3rd position.

Thank you to everyone that took part in the sprint series...it will be fun to see who wins overall average.

Activation fees are now due for the main series.  Zelle is prefered for electronic payments...please use my phone # 503-510-2661.  Check and money orders also work great.  Apple pay, Venmo, and Paypal also accepted if needed.

Have a great weekend!

150 POSTPONED DUE TO SMOKE

Good Morning Breeders,

Unfortunately, the wind yesterday put more smoke on my course, rather than blow it off.  I am glad I decided to keep the birds home, otherwise I would be driving them home this morning.

Wind looks like it will be more out of the northeast late today into tomorrow, so there is potential for the smoke to be moved out to the west.  I will fly once the course is clear. For those that like to follow the air quality...I use the Breezeometer app and I fly south to north.  Windy.com is my go to for weather, wind, and live cameras along the course.

Good luck to those in Blue Bucket today...they should have a beautiful smoke free flight today!

Take Care

150 MILE ACTIVATION UPDATE

Good Morning Breeders,

I have been keeping a close eye on the smoke over the race course and at the moment there is potential to have the activation tomorrow. The winds should continue to move the smoke off course and as long as the trend continues, it should be a good day.

Tomorrow is calling for light headwinds the entirety of the course with nothing much over 10mph.  Clear skies and 55 at release and 75 by the time birds reach home.

Good luck and hopefully the smoke will cooperate.

Lucas

150 MILE ACTIVATION UPDATE
Good Afternoon Breeders,

Birds continue to train well.  This morning they were on a mission to get home quick.  I was planning on flying the 150 on Friday, but it is too damn hot.  The high on Friday will be 102 degrees, which isn't conducive to a good pigeon race.  Big temperature swings from daytime highs and nighttime lows.

Plan as of right now...loft fly Thursday, Friday, Saturday....train Sunday, Monday and then 150 activation on Wednesday.  Weather dependent of course.

Take Care

GOOD MORNING!
Good Morning Breeders,

Beautiful 45 degrees this morning!  Majority of birds did well on yesterday's 103 mile toss. There were some birds that took a wrong turn yesterday and ended up fighting the winds in the afternoon to get home.  This morning they have open loft, so those that would like to go out and fly are welcome.

Congratulations to Andy Waclaw & Tom Lukaszczyk, Nathern Jutson, and AHC Loft for clocking the first 3 birds!
Congratulations to Kolvenbag & Sons for winning the sprint and taking the 3rd position.  Congratulations to Nemelka for being able to squeeze one in for second!  Great job guys!

This week's schedule looks like I will loft fly Monday, train Tuesday and Wednesday, then 150 Mile activation on Friday!

Have a great week!

103 MILE SPRINT TOMORROW
Good Morning Breeders,

Birds are doing well and thoroughly enjoyed this morning's loft fly.  They will be getting a bath here shortly.  Birds are looking good and flew well on yesterday's trainer.  I will be taking advantage of tomorrow's good weather and will be flying the 103 mile sprint/trainer.  Tomorrow looks mostly sunny with some headwinds and cooler temps.

Tomorrow should set them up nicely for next week's 150 mile activation.  Reminder, race entry fees are not due until after the 150 mile race/trainer.

Good Luck to everyone!

SPRINT RACE UPDATE
Good Afternoon Breeders,

Birds enjoyed a nice loft fly this morning and baths this afternoon.  Overcast and haze today.  I had originally wanted to race the 100 miler tomorrow, but I am going to wait until Monday.  I would like to train tomorrow and Saturday, then loft fly Sunday.  It is warmer than I like at the moment, and Monday should be quite a bit cooler.  This will also give those late birds yesterday some time to bounce back.

For those that are still interested in entering the sprint series, you will have until Sunday.  There are currently 125 or so birds signed up.

Good luck

Lucas
