WELL GUYS, I GAVE THE BIRDS A 21 MI. TOSS YESTERDAY, WEATHER WAS WAS PERFECT IT SEEMED, CLEAR, LIGHT TAILWIND, BUT NO CLOUDS.70 DEGREES. WELL YOU CAN SEE THE RESULTS, IT TOOK THEM HOURS TO GET HOME AND SOME THE 2ND DAY. WHAT HAPPEN I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA, THEY CAME JUST FINE FROM 15 MI. 2 X BUT THEY DO HAVE TO CROSS A RIVER AT THE 21 MI. RELEASE, BUT I DON'T THINK THAT SHOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS RESULT. HOPEFULLY WE WILL GET MORE IN , BUT THIS IS DIS-APPOIINTING TO ME AND I'M SURE TO YOU ALL.
NOTHING ELSE I CAN SAY AS I DON'T HAVE THE ANSWERS
HI GUYS, WE HAVE SUSPENDED TRAINING FOR A FEW DAYS, YESTERDAY WE FLEW A 250 MI. RACE AND IT WAS OVER 90 DEGREES WITH HIGH WINDS. TODAY/TONIGHT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO GET SUPER STORMS WITH RAIN ETC. SO WHEN IT CALMS DOWN WE WILL RESUME TRAINING. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
sorry i've been a little l with updates/training. i have had 2 close friends pass away and my mother is in the nursing home so it's taken some of my time. also i have not liked the weather, heat has been much this year. a oklahoma olr released their birds in their first race on the hottest day of this year and lost many birds, i would rather wait until the cooler weather. it's supposed to get cooler the next few days and next week so this is good.
i will try to keep you updated as much as possible and we are going to try to video the race releases, never done this before so bear with me.
WE HAVE STARTED THE TRAINING PROCESS, GIVING THEM 4 SHORT TOSSES, SO FAR NO MAJOR PROBLEMS
IN A FEW DAYS WE WILL START THE CLOCKING PROCESS AND PUT IT ONLINE. STAY TUNED AND WE WILL
DO OUR BEST TO GET YOUR BIRDS IN SHAPE FOR THE RACES.
I GAVE THE BIRDS A SHORT TOSS THIS MORNING, BASICALLY JUST TO GET THEM USED TO THE CRATES ETC.
THE WEATHER IS SUPPOSED TO COOL OFF THE NEXT FEW DAYS SO THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TIME
TO GET STARTED. WE HAD OUR FIRST CLUB RACE YESTERDAY, IT WAS VERY HOT AND MOST PEOPLE ONLY GOT ABOUT 1/2 OF
THEIR BIRDS HOME THE FIRST DAY, BUT I THINK MOST WILL GET HOME TODAY IF NOT ALREADY.
I WILL KEEP YUOU UPDATED.
I have made the decision to hold off on training the Lucky 17 birds for a while. Its been so hot and humid around here lately.
My fellow flyers are training their y.b. teams now and from what i can find out, most have lost close to half their team.
we don't know if its the heat/humidity or what, but somethings going on that we don't know about. i'm thinking of starting '
traiining around the first of october, it all depends on the weather. i'm not going to get iin any hurry as i don't want to just
throw away your birds. the birds look good now,, a few are moulting around the head/neck but doing well.
i've had a few calls about your birds showing up as far as 80 mi. away , so i go pick them up. i had onw show up at a vets
office about 20 mi. away the other day, just so happen that i was in kansas getting feed, so picked it up on my way back.
Whats up with this? not trainiing, not over crowded, so why are they taking off so far, maybe getting in with other birds?
Well take care and hope all for the best in y.b. racing
today is a very nice day in okla. one of the best in many weeks. i've had a couple birds come down with respirtory so i have been treating the whole loft. their last flight is about 3/4 grown in . so i have not been pushing them to fly, just leaving it up to them. i have all birds on stop mite, this is a very good product, if fact, i just bought another 5 pds of it at the convention in tulsa., one of our past members Rick Weig had very good results at the convention race. Good going Rick!!
I bought several products from siegels at the convention, as well as others with me . this saves shipping fees and that can add up. Also if any of you are not familiar with Tonys Triple Tablets, they are great! you can get them at jedds.
take care see you later
TODAY WE PULLED THE LAST FLIGHT ON ALL BIRDS AND INVENTORIED THEM ALSO. WE HAVE A FEW MISSING, DON'T KNOW WHY AS WE HAVE NO HAWK PROBLEMS, AND THE BIRDS ARE NOT PUSHED. IT'S LIKE THEY JUST FLY AWAY AND DON'T RETURN, AND WE HAVE PLENTY OF PERCHES , SO IF YOU HAVE ANY MISSING, SEND REPLACEMENTS RIGHT AWAY AS WE WILL CLOSE THE LOFT ON THE 30TH.
THANKS AND GOOD LUCK
ALL PERCH FEES NOT PAID BY 6-30-21 , BIRDS ARE SUBJECT TO BE SOLD TO INTERESTED PARTIES, ALL RIGHTS WILL BE FORFEITED
WE DID A INVENTORY AND FOUND A FEW MISTAKES AND SOME BIRDS NOT ASSIGNED, SO WE DID ANOTHER HAND INVENTORY TO CORRECT EVERYTHING. THERE IS ONLY AROUND 185 ON THE INVENTORY LIST BUT THATS NOT ALL OF THEM.
SO DON'T WORRY WE WILL DO ANOTHR INVENTORY SOON AND HOPEFULLY HAVE EVERYTHING CORRECTED.
