RACE 5 UPDATE

I would like to congratulate our winners from Race 5.

1-Sam Haslem $1,000

2-Hal Peery $500+$100

3-Lone Peak (Alan Taylor) $400

4-Sherwood Loft (Jeff Sherwwod) $300

5-Jones Boys- PJ Loft $200

6-Larry Mitchell/Larry Christensen $100

The birds encountered slight headwinds all the way home and we had 3 birds on the 1st drop.  This course I believe is one of the greatest test for pigeons.  We don't usually get much tail winds and birds need to choose the correct path home or they can get pushed off track.  I said before we started that races would be 1200-1400 ypm races and it has been the case this year again.  I am proud of these birds that have made it to the final race.  We are looking for a Saturday Final but that could dosnt look great right now but we will continue to watch and keep you updated.

RACE 5

The weather here has been crazy and we probably missed a window earlier to train.  I thought we were going to have rain when I woke up but we didn't and i tried to take them on a 35 mile toss and by noon I didn't dare so I ended up bringing them back.  I am loft flying them and will probably get a 35 mile toss in the morning.  Looks like Race 5 will happen Friday and Race 6 (Final Race) will be the follow Saturday.  I keep watching the weather but I would count on Friday as of now for Race 5 to happen.

RACE 4 UPDATE

Race 4 I believe went well!  It was good speeds and good returns.  We are still missing 2 birds but on Wednesday we had 2 birds return from previous races.  The storms are on the way so I am not really sure what day we will have the first 300 mile race but as of now I would say it is going to be a week from today with the final race the followimg Saturday.  We will keep an eye on the weather and get them trained when weather permits.  Today they had a good headwind on the 35 mile toss and they powered through it great!

Congrats to our money winners!

2-$300 + $100 ped challenge Perry Loft

3-$200 Lone Peak (Alan Taylor)

RELEASE FROM FORT HALL

Well to tell you this is going to be an interesting race would be an understatement.  We arrived at fort hall watered the birds and waited for release.  We released the birds and as soon as they made a loop right at that moment some guy further south pulled off the road at opened his doors to release birds.  All the birds then got mixed with his birds and kept circling and circling which they never do.  The guy never even noticed what he had don't and just jumped back in his car and headed north In a hurry.  Probably one of the most unlucky things I have ever seen in all my years doing pigeons.  We sat and watched them circle fighting on which way to go and eventualy we couldn't see them but the we're headed southwest instead of south Still in one group.  So if anyone knows an Idaho flyer (car had Idaho plates) that drives one of the White Hyundai little trucks let him know he is a genious!  All we can do is hope for the best.  Good Luck!

1ST RACE

Well we now have 1 race in the books!  congrats to Dirty Dozen Loft for being 1st in trap he is the winner of 1 perch fee for next year.

When we let birds go it was slight over cast and about 50 miles north storms but the whole way to the south clear.  Birds headed up in one group and just kinda weaved for a minute until they headed straight for home.  We jumped in the car and headed back and after about driving for 50 miles we stopped at gas station to get drink for the drive home.  We were in the gas station for maybe 3 minutes and jumped in the car to head out and boom the birds went cruising right over our head next to the free just barely off the ground.  it was good to see them because we knew they were moving quickly and so we better get home to greet them.  Birds mostly showed up in 2 big groups right after each other but were not very eager to clock.  We are still out a couple birds but think we should see them back tomorrow.  Every bird when basketing felt amazing and ready for the race.   Plan moving forward is to move quickly to the next race because this was just over 120 miles.  We will give birds a couple days to relax and loft fly and then get 1 toss before going to next station.  We should have everything paid and we will get a payout up soon for you guys.
