Hello Everyone,
Today I am Loft flying the birds. There is a lot of rain in the area and heavy rain clouds in the area. Thats why I pulled up short yesterday because of a lot of storms in the area. I am heading out of town for a funeral today, I will be back on Saturday and we will resume training on Sunday. Next week I am hoping to make a lot of progress to be ready to start the Sprint Series and get them ready for the Activation Race. So weather permitting we will still be on schedule. Hope everyone is well, and the birds look fantastic!!

Hope everyone is haveing a great Holiday weekend! The birds are doing really well. I took the last 2 days off from road training because of the start of the Dove hunt. This week I am working the birds through a mountain pass. So on Wincompanion its going to say a they were released from the same spot, but in reality they are be released a few miles farther each time. So don't pay too much attention to the release point and miles at this juncture. The previous 2 tosses were are the base of the mountain pass also for reference. Once they are passed it we will be in the clear to start jumping them down the road and make some real progress. I've flown my personal team through this earlier this year with no problems at all. I still feel like we are on schedule as long as the weather holds out. Good luck everyone.

Hello! Hope all is well. We are now done with July. Hopefully we are done with the extreme heat also. The birds are progressing nicely. They are starting to fly like i want them too and before long we will be ready to hit the road. I am just waithing for the 10th flight to grow in a little more before we start pushing down the highway. We have had smoke in the valley but so far it has not been bad enough to curtail any training. Hopefully it dosn’t get any worse. Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Happy 4th of July to you and your families! We decided to do a trailer release today right in front of the loft. It was great to see them get up and get some good exercise. It forced some of the ones that like to just sit on the landing board or trap in the loft super fast to fly a bit. I am really gong to push them to fly and start getting in shape over the next couple of weeks and we will be pulling the 10th flight fairly soon also. Have a fun celebration tonight and have a great week end.
Devil Creek Iron Bird Challenge!
Good Friday to Everyone! Hope all is well. We have received the last of the birds and so we are entering a new phase. This past week we pulled the flights on the birds. I decided to pull the 9th only and a roughly a month later we will be pullling the 10th. The birds that arrived in the last month I will go through them and see where they are in the moult to determine if we need to pull flights on them. I turned the lights out a few weeks back, which really induced the body moult and we have feathers everywhere. The overall health seems really good.
The birds get up and fly really well first thing in the morning. I do wish that they flew a little longer than they do but we’ve got time to work on that and their conditioning.
The final number are 860 birds received. The support for our first year has been awesome. I have no complaints. Now its up to me to get these birds ready for a challenging race series. I look forward to the challenge and I apreciate your trust in me to get it done.
Next week will be the final week that we are accepting birds. Last chance to be apart of this Series 2024 and compete for the first ever Devil Creek Iron Bird Challenge Trophy.

We are ready for you to send your Birds as soon as they are ready. We still have some winter weather but the loft is ready for Birds. Remember to make sure they are eadting and drinking good on their own and then we will put them through our health program and quarantine period. We cant wait to start working with your birds.
