News and Updates
UDATE 7.5.2022

We hope you all enjoyed the 4th of July with family and friends! We are definitely grateful to live in this great country!
We will be doing a live loft fly on Wincompanion tomorrow. Moving forward we will do this about 2 to three times per week so you can keep track of your birds and what they're doing. The birds have been loft flying lately and once their end flights are grown back and they are routing well we will begin road training. We anticipate road training to begin in early August.
The birds are given Primalac every day and are routinely given vitamins and minerals. They are looking great. We brought in another 20 birds this past week and they are currently in quarantine. We will integrate them to the main group over the next month.
As a reminder when races start we plan to do live video feed on race day so you can see the arrival of the birds. We want to operate our race as transparently as possible and include the breeders as much as we can so you can see your birds! Keep an eye out tomorrow for the loft fly on Wincompanion and reach out if you have any questions.

UPDATE 6.27.2022 Good Morning,

Hope you are all doing well! This past week we removed end flights from the birds to ensure they are ready for the races series this fall. The birds were given several days of rest after pulling end flights. We let them out yesterday at their own leisure and a group of about 20 flew for about 15 minutes while the rest lounged on top of the loft.

This past week we also did a preventative treatment for canker and coccidiosis to stay on top of the birds health. We like to rotate canker meds so they remain effective when used.

We are expecting a few replacement birds this week and a few new additions as well. Things are getting hot here but the loft is staying cool as it is well ventilated. Over the next few weeks there won't be much to report in the way of flying as we plan to let the birds rest a bit until they regrow their end flights. They will be allowed to loft fly but we won't push them. Road training will begin once end flights have grown in and they are all on the wing at least an hour around the loft.

Call or text with any questions.

06.21.2022 UPDATE
 Hello Breeders,

We did a hand inventory on Monday as promised. However, we did run into a few technical issues with getting it to upload to Wincompanion. We are working through the issues and hope to be uploading results/inventory on Wincompanion in the near future. We will schedule a follow up with Don at Topigeon to see what we need to modify to get the clock to communicate directly with Wincompanion. It was uploaded to  if you'd like to check there you can, but a few birds were missing from the report there. We are confident we can get this resolved soon.

We sent each breeder an email with inventory attached for you each to review.

We received 128 birds for the race. To date we've had 9 birds lost off the loft so that makes 119/128 still in the loft which makes a 93% retention rate in getting the birds settled.

Any questions reach out!

We met with Don Chapin at Topigeon last night to get the clock set up and to get everything connected to Wincompanion. We are working through a few things and learning the ins and outs of the clock and wincompanion. We will do an inventory on Monday with the clock and get you all an update on your birds.
Things are starting to warm up and the birds are enjoying loft flying in the mornings and are routing well. Once the whole group is routing and flying well we’ll get them down the road. We feel road training is excellent for the birds muscles, lungs and minds. Your birds will be trained and ready for the rigor of the races.
We are excited to start using our clock live on Wincompanion. Thanks for your patience as we learn this process with the clock!

UPDATED 6.10.2022 Hello Breeders,

Time seems to be flying by here. We will enter the season with 123 birds in the race. We were hoping to get more to have high payouts for the breeders but we are grateful and happy for all of you that are supporting us this first year. Our website says we will withhold 10% of activation fees for expenses. Due to this being our first year and with the number of birds we received we'd like to let you know we plan to waive that this year and 100% of the activation money will go to the breeders this year.

The birds are loft flying for an hour to an hour and a half each day. We have started to post videos of loft flying on the facebook page so please check it out.

I spoke with Don Chapin at Topigeon last night. We are scheduled with him to get the software needed to get our clock to communicate with WinCompanion next week. Live clocking's/inventories will begin next week. He has been quite busy this spring and so we're grateful he has time to get us setup next week.

Please reach out if you have any questions at all.

It has been a very bizarre spring in our area this year. This past week we've had snow several days, rain, hail, etc...Hopefully it will be warming up soon.

We've received word that more birds are being shipped in this week and over the next few weeks. We'll be accepting birds until June 1st. We will accept replacements until June 15th.

Inventory- We plan to do inventory on Wincompanion this weekend. We'd like to get the inventory done to let anyone know that might be missing a bird from loft settling so you have time to send in a replacement. Please be patient as we do the first inventory as this will be our first time uploading to Wincompanion. We should be fine but we are learning the ropes of getting the clocking system to communicate with Wincompanion. Inventory will be done by no later than this upcoming Sunday.

The main group that is out loft flying is doing fantastic. Several are routing and spending 45 minutes to an hour loft flying without flagging. About 2/3 of the birds we've received are out loft flying consistently. The other 1/3 is being trap trained currently and should be out this weekend to begin loft flying. Our goal is to get the birds settled as quickly as possibly as we don't want the birds sitting around very long. We believe in getting them out as soon as possible to get them developing good habits very early on.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

We are receiving more birds each week and it looks like we'll have several more fanciers sending before our June 1st deadline. We have a large group out of quarantine that are now trap trained. Some of the early arrivals are already out loft flying with some flying up to 45 minutes at a time. We will get setup to do a hand inventory in the next two weeks to give you a chance to send replacements if any are lost off the loft during settling. We'll accept replacements through June 15th. So far no losses to any health issues. Thank you for sending healthy birds! We keep a close eye on all of them.

We've updated the race schedule on our website. These dates are not set in stone. We will not fly the birds in poor weather conditions or extreme smoky conditions from western fires. We will modify this schedule as needed in the best interest of the birds. Here is the schedule:
  • Activation Race- 130 Miles, Ruby Junction, NV-September 24th, 2022

  • Race 1-200 Miles, McGill, NV-October 1st, 2022

  • Race 2-250 Miles, Lund, NV-October 8th, 2022

  • Race 3-315 Miles, Pioche, NV-October 15th, 2022

  • Race 4-350 Miles, Ash Springs, NV-October 22nd, 2022

Just a reminder we are accepting birds through JUNE 1ST!!! Still plenty of time to send. The loft will hold 500 birds. Great list of breeders signed up and sending. We've got several more still planning to send up through June 1st. Come join a great hardworking young bird series that will race across the desert skies through Nevada and into Idaho! The weather is fantastic today as we finally have some sunshine. Last week we had snow, rain and 60 mph winds. Needless to say, we are glad the weather is warming up. The health of the birds has been super so far! We've got a group of birds out trap training today and we plan to let them out to begin lofty flying later this week. We'll begin posting inventory on Wincompanion in the next couple weeks. We've had several fanciers let us know that they are still planning to send birds. As a reminder, we are accepting birds until June 1st so there is still plenty of time to get your birds here. June 1st will be a strict deadline as we really can't go beyond that date and get birds ready for the races in time in late September and October. Also, payouts are listed on our website if you're curious to see the payouts for the race.

We wish you the best as you send out to OLRs and participate in club racing. We've sent out to several races and just had our first club race this past weekend. Lot's of fun! We love spending time with these athletes of the sky! Thank you for entrusting us with the care and training of your birds. Keep them coming!
