No training today. I'm driving home. Too stormy
I want to start out by saying how happy I am with how your birds have been training here at Plymouth Peak this year. It has been a fun training season. I have had minimal losses and the birds have stayed healthy and look great. I always have a separate section open for late birds on training tosses. This allows me to easily handle them check them for health and condition.
Here's my plan for the next few days. I am planning on hauling the birds 110 miles on Sunday. If and only if they do good and come home good, I will wait 2 to 3 days and do a short toss 35 or 45 miles, and then next Friday or Saturday I will haul the birds for the first official race and activation race which will be 123 miles from Sage Junction, Idaho. All the birds that return from Sage Junction will need to have entry fees paid asap. If your birds were some of the last group that paid half price perch fees please include the other $50 for the rest of the perch fee.
I am doing a Point System this year to pay the top birds at the end of the 6 races.
Entry Fee is $300/Bird
Colored Bird Entry Fee is $100/Bird
3PC 2nd Chance Entry Fee is $200/Bird
There will be NO Pedigree Challenge this year.
I will be posting a list of birds that qualify for the Colored Birds after boxing them for the first race. No Blue Pieds or Splashes or White Flights this time. I will pay the top 3 Colored Birds at the end based on points.
100% of 3PC 2nd chance entry fees will be paid back to the breeders. I will pay the top 3 birds in 2nd chance at the end based on points.
Thanks again and good luck to all. Please feel free to call or text with questions.

I would like to thank everyone that sent birds this year to support this race. I really appreciate it. I know the commitment it takes to send birds out, especially with all the different races available these days. I will do my best to make sure the birds are as ready for the races as they can be. I was really lucky with the health of the birds this year. Only 2 birds died of sickness, everything else either got lost off the loft or were victims of the flying predators.
All the birds are now broke to the loft and I have been flagging them. They get a bath opportunity once or twice a week. I will not be posting an official training schedule. As of now I would say 85% of the birds are ready to start training, there are a few lazy ones and of course the most recent group needs some time to loft fly. When I feel the birds are ready I will start hauling them. My goal is to start hauling in 2 weeks. Once I start hauling the birds, I will train every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The birds get out to loft fly everyday the weather allows. Even if I am not posting inventories everyday, I can reassure the birds have been out. There were only 3 days in the last month and a half I didn't let them out, 2 were days I pulled flights and 1 was a really bad stormy day.
May 20th was the last day of recieving birds, however, I still have plenty of room in the loft. So I have decided to do a late bird special. If you have already sent birds, you may send 1 or 2 more for free. No perch fee. If you haven't sent birds yet and would like to do so, it will be a $100 perch fee per bird, $50 due with the bird and the other $50 due only if the bird returns from Race 1. I will accept birds now until June 17TH. So get the word out, let's get more birds here so we can have a bigger purse for you to win.
Thank You to everyone that has sent birds so far. I really appreciate the support. The Birds are looking great. I will pull flights soon. They have still had hawks pestering them regularly, however that should be coming to an end. I usually don't see many after the 1st of June.
The birds get out to loft fly everyday the weather allows. Most of them are really starting to group up and loft fly really well. Please check the inventories for missing birds. If you have a missing bird you may send 1 or 2 to replace it.

Thank You,
Birds are doing great! I am loft flying them everyday the weather allows. A little over half of them are really starting to group up and loft fly really well. Hawks have been a presence as always and have spooked the birds multiple times. Please check the inventories for missing birds. If you have a missing bird you may send 1 or 2 to replace it.
I am taking birds until May 20th. So there's still plenty of time to send birds.

Birds are doing great! I am loft flying them everyday the weather allows. I will start doing online inventories this week. There has been a few birds go missing and I have notified the owners.
I am taking birds until May 20th. So there's still plenty of time to send birds. Make sure and send birds on Mondays or Tuesdays. I am vaccinating the birds with PMV and Salmonella, spraying for feather mites, and chipping them when they arrive.

Birds are still coming in and they are looking great! The weather is finally warming up and starting to act like we might get spring. I can't remember the last time we had this much snow at this time of the year. I just finished a pen to help with the break in process. I posted pictures on facebook for those intersted in seeing it.

The birds are coming in. The postal service has been a struggle already this year. I have had a few boxes of birds take 4 to 5 days to get here. So make sure and send birds on Mondays or Tuesdays. I am vaccinating the birds with PMV and Salmonella, spraying for feather mites, and chipping them when they arrive.
I hope everyone's breeding season is going well and you have lots of champions ready to be sent out. I have made a few changes for the upcoming year for the Plymouth Peak race series. The birds will fly 6 races instead of 7 and the activation race is longer and will also count as the first official race. I will also be paying less average speed positions and moving more money to the last race. I am keeping the perch and entry fees the same as always. I also plan to train 3 times a week as we have always done.

And so it begins! We recieved our first shipment of birds last week. 2023 season is officially underway. My wife and I had a great time in Vegas last weekend attending the Pigeon Gala. We met a lot of great people and offically met several people with whom I have only spoken with many times over the phone. There were some great birds at the auction, and it's always amazing to see what goes into making something like the Gala happen. There were a lot of great people helping out and donating their time.
