RULES
We offer a Four-Race Average Speed Series:
- 1st race is 150 miles
- 2nd race is 200 miles
- 3rd race is 250 miles
- 4th race is 350 miles
- Perch Fees are $100 per bird, if you send 6, you will get 1 free. Perch fees are non-refundable.
- Entry Fees are $250 & the Red Opal is $300 - due after the 100 Mile Activation Race.
- We offer the following forms of payment; Check; zelle PayPal; venmo Cash app
- Accepting birds from March 15th until May 31st.
- Replacements are until June 10th.
- Perch fees must accompany birds upon arrival.
- The loft maximum capacity is 300 birds.
- When signing up as a team or syndicate one person must be designated as the contact person as they will be responsible for all fees, winnings, and birds.
- Birds should have a PMV Vaccine 14-21 days prior to arrival to the loft.
- Birds will be quarantined for at least 14 days upon arrival.
- Birds will be vaccinated for PMV; 30-day booster, treated for coccidiosis, canker and internal/external parasites.
- All birds will have their 9th and 10th flight pulled at two separate times - this will allow the birds to continue to fly.
- You must activate all your birds.
- All eligible birds must be activated at a minimum 3 days prior to 1st race to maintain eligibility.
- Birds not activated three days prior to the first race may be activated by another breeder first come first serve basis.
- All unactivated birds will become the property of Capistrano Classic OLR.
- Capistrano Classic OLR and its management will not be held responsible for birds lost to unforeseen events. Perch fees are non-refundable.
- Birds will be trained twice a week during races - weather permitting.
- Race dates are subject to change due to weather conditions and the condition of the birds.
- The race course will be EastCoast.
- Prizes are paid by the first drop then by clocking order for the remaining positions up to 10%, for the final race only.
- All other races will be paid by clocking order.
- In the event of a piggyback bird on the drop, that bird will be identified and placed at the back of that clocking group.
- In the event of a tie, those birds will share the combined winnings equally.
- Payouts are based on activated birds.
- 15% of entry fees will be held for race expenses.
- Race Day is over 1 hr after sunset on the 2nd day from release.
- Any position not filled within race day time frame will be divided equally with all clocked birds for that race after the clocked positions are paid for their order.
- In the event of any unforeseen incidents ie. No birds make it to the final race or return from the final race, the series will end after the previous race. Payouts will be sent out off of the last race, meaning the previous race will be counted as the final race.
- All races will be paid within 30 days of the final race.
- Birds will be shipped back at the breeder's expense.
- Up to 3 birds can be shipped in a box.
- Anything over 3 birds will require another box.
- All birds will be shipped in brand new boxes.
- Return shipping rates are as follows - charges may change if postal rates go up:
1 bird - $65
2 birds - $75
3 birds - $85
4 birds - $85.00 for box 1 & $65.00 for box 2
5 birds - $85.00 for box 1 & $75.00 for box 2
6 birds - $85.00 for box 1 & $85.00 for box 2
- Birds not claimed 7 days after the last race will become the property of Capistrano Classic OLR.
- If fees are not received in full in 14 days after the completion of the final race, the remaining birds will become the property of the Capistrano Classic OLR.
- Birds will have time to fully recover after the final race prior to shipping.
- All birds belong to the breeder.
- No buybacks or auctions.
- Capistrano Classic OLR reserves the right to refuse service/entry to any breeder or attendee at their discretion.
- The Loft Manager reserves the right to make any and all decisions.
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
- W-9 forms will need to be completed if winnings are $600 or more.
- We will be using the Benzing clocking system and Wincompanion for live viewing.
- Review all our rules, your entry is an acknowledgment of these rules.
- Breeders should use the return pigeon form that is located under our forms to receive their birds back.

- Visitors are always welcome by appointment.
